Alloys and pseudoalloys
UJP PRAHA’s alloys and pseudoalloys are special materials which have been in the company’s product range for decades and whose quality is being improved constantly. Owing to a close co-operation with renowned companies, UJP PRAHA is able to continuously improve the properties of the materials and gain a deeper and deeper insight into the nature of such materials.
UJP PRAHA’s efforts are focussed on special materials for the primary coolant circuits of nuclear reactors (zirconium alloys). For decades, the company has been contribution to the CORROSION database in co-operation with the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. Other research projects are devoted to at heat-resistant nickel alloys and their precise casting. And equally important, a high-specific-weight tungsten alloys programme is under way, with outputs for the manufacture of products shielding off radioactivity and for application in the armaments industry.
